Each year The Institute of Chartered Accountants England Wales MK staff are asked to put forward local charities that are close to their heart to be voted on for their charity of the year. These are all then voted on by staff and the one with the most votes is selected to receive all monies raised during the calendar year. For 2016, Mind BLMK was selected.

This week, we were presented with a cheque by the ICAEW MK Social Club for the amazing sum of £6,000! This money was raised via cake sales, with cakes made and donated by staff, by raffling hampers throughout the year and by the sale of handmade items also made by staff. There were also social and sports events, including golf days with donations to a raffle. Donations were also made at a Christmas Carol Concert and there was a Christmas raffle where the prizes were donated by directors and other companies approached by the institute. In addition to this, each department made up Christmas hampers with items donated by staff and these were also raffled off - there were more than a dozen hampers created in this way, all of which raised a lot of extra money for Mind BLMK.

I hope this money goes some way to help people in need as it is a truly amazing charity and much needed

This donation will help ensure that Mind BLMK can continue to support people in need and build better mental health for all.

A massive thank you everyone who has helped raise this money. With so many people being affected by mental health problems, it is the generosity and support from people like the ICAEW MK Social Club that means we can do even more to help.
