The Wellbeing at Work project is for people living in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton, who are already in employment but need some support to retain it due to their mental health. This could be someone who is experiencing work stress or mental ill health due to either work or personal factors, but may have had to take sick leave away from their employment. A dedicated adviser from Mind BLMK will provide an individual focused support plan during the programme, as well as guidance improving self-confidence and resilience through:
- 1:1 goal planning and support
- Peer support groups
- Money management
- Personal care
- Coping skills
As part of the project, provision is also available for local employers to support their workforce mental health and wellbeing. This will be through delivering mental health awareness training and supporting them to develop their mental health strategy. Mind BLMK provides free support to both the individual and the employer in assisting the person to make a successful and sustainable return to their job and/or sustain their current employment. This service aims to complement any in house job retention or employee sickness programmes and is an impartial, voluntary and confidential approach to retaining employment.
