Counselling provides a safe confidential space to talk about difficulties and events in life.
Our trained counsellors will encourage you to talk about your feelings and emotions and will listen and support you without judging or criticising. They can help you to gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, and to find your own solutions to problems; they won’t usually give advice or tell you what to do.
Counselling can help with a wide range of issues such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, stress depression and anxiety. It can also help to explore events from the past and to develop a better understand of yourself and other issues that you may be experiencing.
How do I access Counselling?
You can access our counselling service by downloading a printable referral form here:
We will conduct an informal assessment to discover if counselling is a good option for you. If we feel you would benefit from counselling we will then ask you to attend an assessment to discover in what way our services can benefit you.
What to expect
Our counselling service is usually accessed for up to 8 sessions but there is also an option to work with a therapist on a longer term basis.
When you are allocated to a counsellor you will meet on the same day at the same time for the duration of your therapy.
Your counsellor will discuss the terms and conditions of your counselling at your first appointment and you can ask questions about anything you are unsure of.
