Mind BLMK is excited to be partnering with RED January, a community initiative providing people with support and a focus during a characteristically tough month.
What is RED January?
RED January is a fun initiative that encourages you to support your own mental health by doing something active every single day.
This could be anything from swimming, running or walking to work, taking part in your favourite yoga class, chair based exercises, a kick about on the pitch, dancing, or even hula hooping!
So whether you decide to walk, run or jive your way through January for five minutes to 10k and beyond, there are no rules, just get active to make this January red and not blue.
How does exercise help your mental health?
Exercise is brilliant for beating the January blues – it burns off cortisol (the stress hormone) plus it stimulates the release of endorphins.
Do you need to fundraise to take part?
It is free to take part and if you would like to raise money or make a donation to Mind BLMK, that’s also great!

How do I get a RED t-shirt?
We are excited to share RED’s exclusive RED January 2019 t-shirts (including some very special touches).
As t-shirts do come at a significant cost, there is a charge of £10.00 per t-shirt to ensure funds raised from those taking part in RED January are used to support better mental health.
T-shirts are available on a first-come-first-served basis and priority will be given to those people who have registered to take part in RED January. We would recommend you buy a t-shirt as soon as possible if you would like one.
