Top Up  For Wellbeing

We all need extra support from time to time. These workshops will give you the space to focus on your own mental health and wellbeing. They are designed to work as a full 6 week course and as stand-alone sessions that you can ‘dip-into’ when you feel the need.

Each workshop is 2 hours long and runs weekly. 

Date, Time and Location - 4th Floor, Margaret Powell House, 493, Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3BN.

Course: Thursdays - starting on 22nd June, 2017 - 7 - 9 pm.    

This is a rolling six week workshop. Learners can attend all, one or some of the sessions which they choose to be relevant to their own situation.

Session 1 - Lifestyle balance

  • What do we mean by lifestyle balance

  • Factors that affect lifestyle balance

  • Tools and techniques which help

Session 2 - Managing your emotions

  • Fears and worries

  • Recognise your own triggers

  • Identify positive reduction techniques

  • Knowledge and understanding of physical symptoms and behaviour

Session 3 - Why do we feel anger sometimes?

  • Types and styles of anger – what is yours

  • Emotional and physical effects

  • Tools and techniques which help

Session 4 - What helps when feeling stressed

  • What is positive/negative stress

  • Recognise own stress triggers

  • Identify stress reduction techniques

  • Knowledge and understanding of physical symptoms and behaviour

Session 5 - Mindfulness and Relaxation

  • What is mindfulness

  • Types of relaxation

  • How to apply mindfulness in everyday life

  • Self-discipline for wellbeing

Session 6 - Food and Mood

  • Positive/negative food

  • Food types

  • Food which feeds emotional balance

  • How to prepare good food
