This training is for people working in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes – Public Health Work and Workplaces. 

Working in Partnership between Mind BLMK / funded by Public Health, Workplace Health Team MKCC. 

Including support around having difficult conversations including motivational interviewing.

By attending you will:

  • As an employee recognise the skills in building resilience and the importance of own wellbeing.
  • Equip yourself as an employee with appropriate boundaries when supporting a person with mental health difficulties.
  • Gain confidence in being able to provide support for colleagues displaying difficulties with emotional wellbeing and mental health distress.
  • Develop knowledge in recognising the importance of creating a safe working culture and how you can complement this and factor in appropriate resources to aid support.
  • Know the importance of setting appropriate boundaries when supporting a colleague experiencing mental health difficulties. Gain skills in communicating with teams and others who maybe experiencing mental health problems, distress and / or crisis.
  • Identify how to approach your manager in regard of your own wellbeing concerns.
  • Develop knowledge in motivational interviewing in strengthening your skills in the support of commitment and positive change.
  • Awareness of supporting own wellbeing and how to signpost to appropriate professional organisations who support wellbeing.
