This training is for people working in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes – Public Health Work and Workplaces. 

Working in Partnership between Mind BLMK / funded by Public Health, Workplace Health Team MKCC. 

By attending you will:

  • As a manager recognise the skills in building resilience and the importance of own wellbeing.
  • Equip yourself as a manager with appropriate boundaries when supporting a person with mental health difficulties.
  • Gain confidence in being able to provide management in supporting teams displaying difficulties with emotional wellbeing and mental health distress.
  • Develop knowledge in recognising the importance of creating a safe working culture and how to implement this and factor in appropriate resources to aid support.
  • Know the importance of setting boundaries with your team regarding workplace behaviour, productivity, and appropriate open access for their support regarding their wellbeing. Gain skills in communicating with teams and others who maybe experiencing mental health problems, distress and / or crisis.
  • Identify how managers can support each other through peer networks, standard approaches across teams, and best practice shared.
  • Develop knowledge in motivational interviewing in strengthening your management skills in the support of commitment and positive change.
  • Awareness of supporting own wellbeing and how to signpost to appropriate professional organisations who support wellbeing.
