Supported self-help is an early Tier 1 intervention service aimed at supporting people with low to moderate mental health needs. Individuals can refer themselves into the service or be referred into the service by a family member, their GP or their local Mind.
It’s a free programme that works with you, to support you to recognise and understand your emotions. Over six weeks we’ll give you information, resources and regular phone calls to help improve how you feel.
You can choose one of eight pathways:
Supported self-help can support adults in England over the age of 18.
1. Visit https://www.mind.org.uk/get-involved/supported-self-help/
2. Once referrals are received by National Mind, you will be contacted by a Supported Self Help Practitioner who will discuss if Supported Self Help is the right service for you.
Supported self-help clients will have access to a 40-minute initial assessment followed by 5x 20-minute sessions with a trained practitioner over a 6–8-week period, based on cognitive behavioural approaches (CBT).
Each week we will check in and provide any support needed. Participants will also be provided with materials and tools to help them recognise and understand their feelings.
