Since I can remember, I’ve always been keen on learning psychoanalysis and becoming a therapist. I’ve held various roles related to providing help and support for people, such as working with the homeless or those at risk of homelessness to find them accommodations, befriending, counselling, and therapeutic coordination.
However, after the pandemic, I lost my last job as a Therapeutic Coordinator, and I was eager to find a job in the mental health sector. I had previous knowledge of Mind and used to refer individuals to Mind in my previous roles. When I saw the advertisement for a vacancy at the Crisis Café and read the job description, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to continue pursuing my passion within Mind, known for its good reputation. So, I applied for the role and was fortunate enough to secure the position as a Crisis Recovery Worker..
I commenced my position as a Crisis Recovery Worker at the Crisis Cafe in March 2023. Driven by my passion for my role and the organization, I was promoted to branch manager in August of the same year. I find immense satisfaction in my job and cherish the moments spent making a difference with my team at the Crisis Café. I aspire to continue growing and advancing within the same organization. Therefore, if any higher positions within the same field become available, I would eagerly seize the opportunity.
I truly appreciate the sense of camaraderie and teamwork within Mind BLMK. Having worked with various organisations and charities, my experience with Mind has been markedly different. Here, I feel a genuine sense of belonging to a cohesive group, all united in our pursuit of a common goal: helping and supporting individuals, thereby making a meaningful difference in their lives.
