Soup ‘n’ Roll’s 40th Birthday Celebration Event for Mind BLMK
The Shortstown Soup ‘n’ Roll group is now into its third month, and each month has been thoroughly enjoyable. The group is organised by the Wellbeing for Later Life Project which supports people over 55 living in Bedford Borough.
This month had a slightly different format as it was also an extra special celebration. Mind BLMK is celebrating its 40th Year so we also had balloons, cake and a raffle to ring in the celebrations! A big thank you to Chanel’s Hair and Beauty salon in Shortstown for donating a manicure voucher for the raffle. Your support is much appreciated. The afternoon was spent eating and chatting and the lovely sounds of laughter were heard often.
The Soup ‘n’ Roll group meet on the third Monday of each month at Shortstown Village Hall between 12.30 and 2pm. It’s a great way to meet up with your local community in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with just a nominal cost of £1 per person which will get you a bowl of soup (from a choice of two flavours), bread roll, tea, coffee and biscuits.
We would like to say a big thank you to the helpers that come every month from the local community, without you this group would not be possible!
