Mind BLMK’s AGM 2023

On Wednesday 18th October, we had our 2023 Annual General Meeting at The Rufus Centre to celebrate our successes from the past financial year and look forward to our plans for the next one.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our AGM last week. It was great to see lots of familiar faces and lots of new ones from our organisation, our partners and externally from the voluntary and community sector, all striving for positive mental health and wellbeing in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.

The theme of our AGM this year was ‘Enriching Lives’. We reflected back on some of our successes from the past financial year which included;

  • Crisis Support
  • Suicide Prevention Pathways Service
  • Mental Health Alliances
  • Influence & Participation
  • MQM Quality Mark

In our last finanical year (March 2022 – March 2023), we supported 8,329 people across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes, and four of those service users shared their story at our AGM.

“I didn’t know how to keep safe when I was at my lowest and I was going to go to A&E, but the Crisis Café was there for me.”

Our Guarantor Members had the opportunity to approve the election of Directors for 2023-2024, to approve the accounts for 2022 – 2023 and vote to appoint Myers Clark Chartered Accountants as Auditors for the year 2023 – 2024.

Our Guarantor Members get invited to our AGM’s, and have the opportunity to have there say on how we run. Find out more about Guarantor Membership and how to sign up HERE

This year, we showcased our Luton Wellbeing Centre which has continued to be a lifeline and the beating heart of our Luton Community for those who have accessed our services.

We continue to deliver our core recovery-focused activities such as our peer support groups, art & crochet clubs, mindfulness and drop-in support sessions, but 2022/23 saw some new initiatives at the Luton Wellbeing Centre too:

  • Monthly Book Club
  • LGBTQ+ Peer Support Group
  • Warm Spaces

We will soon be releasing our 2022/2023 Impact Report that will include the stats/figures from our AGM and what you can expect from us looking foward.

Thank you to all of our colleagues, trustees and partners for a great year and we look foward to the next one 💙
