Mind BLMK Open Day – Thursday 12th May 2022

Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 – Loneliness

On Thursday 12th May , we opened our doors at our Luton Wellbeing Centre, in Dumfries Street to invite all of our stake holders, service users, volunteers, and other collaborative agencies.  This was a perfect opportunity, not only to showcase all of our services available in the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes area, but also to share best practice amongst our neighbouring colleagues and forge new relationships.

We’d like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who stopped by and supported us. It was lovely to finally connect face-to-face with so many of you, and a lot of chocolate brownies were consumed. Big thanks to Jamie’s friend @Private Chef Direct for helping our waistlines expand a little more! 🎂🤣

Extra special thank you to Cllr & Luton Mayor Mahmood Hussein and his lovely Mayoress from Luton Council for joining us.  With loneliness being the theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, it was also particularly poignant to hear from some of our courageous service users, who were brave enough to stand up and share their personal story with us, the challenges faced, and how with support, they have managed to achieve a much healthier & balanced mental wellness.
